Crimson Dawn: Double Vision, Double Minded

After six months of a somewhat restless peace, the Black Tigress kills again.

Jonathan Palomino of Eagle's Eye Investigations, who has close ties to Thomas Hampton, the resident leader of the Vampire Clans in the Sapphire Ridge area of Southern California, has continually hit brick walls in trying to locate clues on how to defeat the Tigress.

When he tells Hampton he's not going to pursue the case any further, Hampton plays two aces up his sleeve. The first ace deals with Jonathan's lineage, and how only his blood can lay a trap for the Tigress.

It turns out he suspected Jonathan would bolt, therefore he made his mark over the soul of one Vic Turner, Jonathan's fellow worker and friend, in order to use him as hostage to keep Jonathan in line.

When Kevin Laredo, Vic's lover, discovers that vampires really exist, and that Vic is targeted to be turned into one, he and Hampton have a showdown to determine who has true claim over Vic's soul...and heart.
